4 Ways to Prevent Unregistered Guests in Your Short-Term Rental
What if someone books for one person but plans on having more guests? I know this is something you might be concerned about. How do you avoid too many people in your short-term rental?
Here are 4 things I recommend doing to help mitigate this potential issue:
1. I recommend installing a Ring doorbell on your front door. This will alert you if there seem to be too many people. We check the ring when the guests first arrive and any time we notice too many alerts. Just make sure to state in your listing that you have a video doorbell.
2. We have a house rule set see here that says:
Must make us aware of all guests that will be visiting or staying overnight in condo. If a person is staying past 10 pm they should be registered on the booking.
3. We send this memo in the check-in message:
There should be no more than 5 (put your own number here) people in the condo at any time. If guests plan to stay past 10 pm, we kindly ask that you update the number of people on the reservation. Any rule violations can result in fines.
4. If someone books for just one person, we say in our booking message:
We are so excited to have you on your solo trip! If you plan to have other guests join you, we kindly ask that you update the number of people on the reservation. That way we can ensure we provide enough linens and towels.
